freak magnet

2 comments | Thursday, March 31, 2005

as many of you know, i have been [unofficially] dubbed a freak magnet. they all seem to swarm to me. in a large crowd of all sorts of people...i am the one they inevitably start talking to or fall asleep on my shoulder or show me their drawings...
well, there is also another breed of freak that has found me...through Friendster. He's an angry young man...I say creepy. Read:
" Okay....I think I've tried messaging you like 2 or 3 times and haven't gotten a response and I even mentioned you could access my picture on MSN by adding me (xxx@hotmail.com) and viewing my profile to see the picture. I mentioned that my picture was crappy and that I am attractive in person but once again....no response so truthfully I'm a little ticked because I don't tend to get ignored in "real" life so I thought I would message you once more, despite my gut feeling that I won't get a response this time but I don't give up easy and I thought I would make one final attempt to see if I could actually get a response this time.

So here's the deal....I'm gonna make it interesting for you. Whether you've seen my picture or not....you obviously seem to doubt that I am attractive so I'm gonna make a bargain with you:
Meet me for a coffee......and if you don't find me at least reasonably attractive....I'll hand over 50 dollars no questions asked and you can leave without having to spend one single second with me. I'll even make it more valuable for you....I'll even give you a recommendation for 2 stocks you can invest your 50 buck's in with a guaranteed return. How's that? Truthfully....getting ignored ticks me off and right now I want to prove to you that people actually can be attractive in person without appearing so online.

If you think I am full of B.S., well, lets put my sincerity and honesty to the test...I'm definitely up for it if you are. With that said, my digits are xxx-xxxx....are you game? "

The questions come at you from both sides: One side math, the other side colour-matching.
The object is to see both how clever you are and which side of your brain you favour. And it's very quick!

Check it, yo! I'm gonna be 84 apparently.

Vacation all I ever wanted...

So, hey, I'm going to California for a much-needed holiday (I guess holidays are always ~needed~... Whatever.).
The plan is to prolly mostly hang around ze ocean, flirt with a few boys, check out some California cuisine, visit some pals, take pics, poke a movie star in the ribs, save a great white shark from an aquarium, walk around...
So far it's San Fran, Ventura, LA...I wouldn't mind going to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo...but what else can I do? I don't want to be incredibly lazy, but I also don't want to have an itinerary that's packed with touristy crap.
One thing I am sad about is I'll miss hooking up with my dear friend, Avner from Israel, who's in LA. We'll miss each other by just over a week. *sniff sniff*
What else can I do?

clean me up!

so, i'm on this cleanse...and everything has been going quite well for the last 10 days, except I made a tragic error last night and instead of drinking my yerba de maté for caffeine last night (HEAPS of school stuff to do), I grabbed a coffee.
a BIG coffee
what was i thinking? not only did it partially screw up my cleanse, but I actually got physically ill from it (so, i guess it didn't really mess up the cleanse) and was still awake four hours after I put the books down.
me sleepy

some wear a tea cozy on their head
some grow their hair
some have only their outer shell
some use others as their costumes
and as their weapons and shields

International Women's Day...

... is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. When women on all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their Day, they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.

International Women's Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history; it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women to participate in society on an equal footing with men. In ancient Greece, Lysistrata initiated a sexual strike against men in order to end war; during the French Revolution, Parisian women calling for "liberty, equality, fraternity" marched on Versailles to demand women's suffrage.

The idea of an International Women's Day first arose at the turn of the century, which in the industrialized world was a period of expansion and turbulence, booming population growth and radical ideologies.

Cereal-Box French

It's all I have from my days of growing up in Alberta. Elementary and Junior High School French.
That's it...
avec du sucre, svp
I think I know more than I give myself credit for though.

P.S. Here in Canada, we have two official languages: English and French; so everything that is printed must be bilingual...hence the cereal-box French.
