How come there was never a Judy Blume movie?

I mean, c'mon...that book, you know the one: Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret was like the catalyst for enhancing the awkwardness and ignorance of female puberty - providing a juggernaut of similarities and discoveries that pushed us all forward into new realms.
My best friend and I were talking about that damn book last night. I wonder if wee lasses around the world are still picking up back issues of that tween-chick-book. Let's hope so.
